Thank you for using Tokyo Metro.
Tokyo Metro is a transportation company whose network represents the core of the railway transportation system for the Tokyo Metropolitan Area. With the opening of the Fukutoshin Line in June 2008, we now operate a network of nine subway lines with a total length of 195.1 km. Seven of these lines offer reciprocal through-service with lines operated by other railway companies.
As a transportation company carrying 6.22 million passengers every day, maintaining and enhancing transport safety is our number one priority. At the same time, we are constantly striving to provide the best possible service with a customer focus. We are also aggressively undertaking various affiliated businesses through which we provide support for our passenger’s daily lives. Meanwhile, we are aiming to achieve more efficient business management and energetically pursuing initiatives to cut costs and raise productivity. We also aspire to be a corporate group that is highly regarded by society at large. To this end, we work diligently on environmental protection and compliance management while maintaining close relationships with local communities.
As the middle year of our three-year medium-term management plan “Step up Tokyo Metro 2009”, Fiscal 2008 is an important year for us to pave the way towards successful completion of the plan. We are aiming to become a listed company within the period of this plan. We will continue working hard to successfully achieve our goal of “enhancement of long-term company value”, which is the main objective of this medium-term management plan. In keeping with the Tokyo Metro Group concept of “Keeping Tokyo on the Move”, we will also continue striving to support the urban functions of our capital Tokyo and contribute to the invigorating daily experience that life in this great city has to offer.
We ask you all for your continued support for Tokyo Metro.
