Located at the mouth of the Sumidagawa River, the artistic atmosphere in the park will make you forget you are in a metropolitan area. There are entrances at Otemon Gate (Shimbashi) and Nakanogomon Gate (Shiodome). The garden is a typical Edo era garden found in the residence of a Tokugawa Shogun, and taking tea in the tea house on the island in the tidal pond is a popular pastime (500 yen with a Japanese snack). There is a landing point for a water bus located in the park.
