Yoyogi Park was once used as a military parade ground, and after the war, it was used as the Washington Heights U.S. army barracks and as the Olympic village for the Tokyo Olympics before being opened as a park. Visitors come to the park, which sprawls over 54 square meters, to enjoy walking and bird watching. The B area on the south side of the road which runs through the park includes an athletics stadium, soccer pitch and other event facilities where concerts and events are held every weekend.
