What's PASMO?
A PASMO card is a convenient prepaid transportation card that contains an integrated-circuit (IC) chip, allowing the user to enter the subway by simply placing the card over a PASMO reader located on the ticket gates. The card is rechargeable and can be used over and over. It can also be used for other railway and bus operators nationwide where interoperability is offered.

In addition to using your charged PASMO card to ride the subway or bus system, you can use it to pay for items purchased at stores and vending machines. It can also be used for member shops of railways and buses nationwide where interoperability is offered.
Price/recharge denominations
At ticket machines: 1,000 yen, 2,000 yen, 3,000 yen, 4,000 yen, 5,000 yen, 10,000 yen
At station offices and commuter pass offices: From 1,000 yen up to 20,000 yen in 1,000 yen units
- *Note: Initial purchase price includes a 500 yen deposit.

If the card is no longer needed
A handling fee of 210 yen is deducted from the PASMO card and the initial 500 yen deposit is returned

Transferring between trains
When transferring between trains, be sure to use the orange ticket gates and to complete your transfer within 30 minutes
PASMO's Features
Just a touch lets you ride both trains and buses

You can use PASMO by simply touching the sensor area of the ticket gate, without even taking the card out of the holder, etc.
With automatic fare adjustment by ticket gate, traveling further is also easy

When traveling further than your fare allows, if PASMO is charged, the exceeding amount shall be deducted automatically when you touch the ticket gate.
- *Note: PASMO can be purchased and charged (with money) at stations, etc.
Can be used instead of a wallet, making shopping also convenient

The amount charged into PASMO can also be used in shops and vending machines located in station areas.
It can also be used at other shops and vending machines where interoperability with PASMO is available.
Don't worry even if you lose it

Both ‘Name PASMO’ and ‘PASMO Pass» can be reissued if lost.
