Tokyo Metro hands over Rolling Stock Equipment to FEATI Univ. in the Republic of the Philippines

Tokyo Metro Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Taito ward, Tokyo; President: Akihiro Kosaka; hereinafter referred to as "Tokyo Metro") has transferred rolling stock equipment previously used in its operations to FEATI University in the Republic of the Philippines on September 25th, 2025. This initiative aims to contribute to the development of railway professionals in the Republic of the Philippines by leveraging Tokyo Metro's expertise and experience in railway operations.

FEATI University has faculties in Engineering, Marine Education, Management, and Architecture. In recent years, its Faculty of Engineering has launched a Railway Engineering course. Meanwhile, Tokyo Metro has run the "Tokyo Metro Academy," providing online courses and onsite courses in Tokyo for railway professionals worldwide. Through this initiative, Tokyo Metro has shared its railway operation expertise and experience broadly overseas, including people from FEATI University.

The relationship between Tokyo Metro and FEATI University began in February 2020 with the donation of Marunouchi Line Series 02 for use as educational materials at FEATI University. In April 2025, the two parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) regarding railway personnel development. This latest transfer is an initiative based on the MOU.

The transferred rolling stock equipment consists of major components such as the bogie and motors from the Hanzomon Line Series 8000. These will be utilized as teaching materials in the university's railway education program, alongside the Series 02 trains. This will enable students to receive practical education using actual railway components and is expected to contribute significantly to the development of railway professionals in the Republic of the Philippines.

Additionally, on September 25, 2025, a ceremony commemorating the completion of this transfer was held at FEATI University. Tokyo Metro will continue to share insights on safe and sustainable urban railway operations in cooperation with railway educational institutions and operators.
