To commemorate the launch and expansion of Tokyo Metro's fare payment service utilizing credit cards and QR codes, a PR video produced by SQUARE ENIX IMAGE STUDIO division has been released
Tokyo Metro Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Taito City, Tokyo; President: Akihiro Kosaka; hereinafter "Tokyo Metro") will release a promotional video produced by the IMAGE STUDIO division, the visual production arm of Square Enix Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Shinjuku City, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Takashi Kiryu; hereinafter "SQUARE ENIX"), beginning Friday, March 27, 2026, to commemorate the launch and expansion on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 of its Tap to Ride Service, a post-pay transit service using touch payments such as credit cards, and its QR Code*-enabled boarding service (collectively, the "Service").
The Service allows customers to pass through ticket gates conveniently using a credit card or a smartphone in their possession. With the expansion of the Service, customers without a ticket can now enjoy seamless and comfortable access to Tokyo Metro without stopping at ticket vending machines or station offices.
To help customers not only in Japan but also those visiting Tokyo from around the world experience the appeal of the Service, the SQUARE ENIX IMAGE STUDIO division --renowned for creating top-quality, full-CG visuals for internationally beloved game franchises such as DRAGON QUEST and FINAL FANTASY--has produced an entirely original animated video.
The immersive background music that enhances the animation is a brand-new composition from Naoshi Mizuta of the SQUARE ENIX Sound Division, known for his work on FINAL FANTASY XI. Enjoy the imagination of SQUARE ENIX as you embark on an adventure across Tokyo Metro--now more seamless and comfortable than ever.
The video is now being distributed on Tokyo Metro's official accounts in various languages! (Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean)
