What to do if...

  

Emergency response

  • If someone falls from the platform...

    If you see someone fall from the platform, or on the rail track,immediately push the emergency stop button located on the platform. An emergency alarm will be activated and trains will be stopped.

  • If someone faints...

    Please assist with first aid efforts. Automated External Defibrillators (AED) are installed at all stations. The devices are easy to operate with audio instruction (Japanese only).

Contact station staff or train crews here

  • On the station platform

    If while on the platform you drop something on the track, or if you see something suspicious or somebody acting suspiciously, please use the intercoms provided on the platform. These will allow you to contact the station staff.

  • Inside the train

    If a passenger suddenly takes seriously ill, or should you discover a fire, please use the emergency notification devices installed on the train. These will allow you to contact the train crew.

Provision of Information During Large-Scale Disasters

In the event of a large-scale disaster, emergency information broadcasts from the Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) will be displayed on the screens installed on the ticket gates at all stations managed by Tokyo Metro. Information regarding disasters will be promptly conveyed for passenger use.

Tokyo Metro uses X (formerly Twitter) to provide information on actual or expected delays of at least 15 minutes for trains on each of our routes, so be sure to check accordingly.
