Regular Tickets

Tickets are sold at ticket vending machines found at every Tokyo Metro station.

Tickets are available in denominations of 180 yen, 210 yen, 260 yen, 300 yen, and 330 yen. Select the fare based on the distance you will travel.

*The price shown includes the train station barrier-free fee (10 yen for adults). The price for children is half that of an adult after adding the train station barrier-free fee.

Refunds

Refunds are only possible with valid tickets that have not yet been used. You will be charged a 170 yen handling fee (220 yen when transferring to/from other companies' trains) to process your refund.

Traveling Further than Your Fare Allows/Transferring Trains

If the fare on your ticket is less than that for the distance you traveled, you will be required to pay the difference.
Refunds are not given for tickets valued higher than the fare for the distance traveled.
Regular Tickets become invalid upon exiting the ticket gate.

When transferring between trains, be sure to use the orange ticket gates and to complete your transfer within 60 minutes. However, there are some stations where you can transfer without going through the ticket gates.

When You’re Lost Your Ticket

You will be charged the fare from the station at which you boarded the train. (If you do not know where you boarded, you will be charged the fare from the terminus.)
Purchase a replacement ticket at the station you arrived and ask a station attendant for a proof-of-payment receipt (sai-shuuju shomeisho).
If your ticket is found, present the ticket along with your proof-of-payment receipt when requesting a refund.
You will receive a refund for the price of a new ticket, minus a 170 yen handling fee (220 yen when transferring to/from other companies' trains).
The proof-of-payment receipt is valid for one year.
