O&M Business
As part of its overseas O&M Business, Tokyo Metro is steadily operating the service on Elizabeth line in London, United Kingdom. Through this project, Tokyo Metro leverages its experience and expertise in railway operations while engaging in ongoing discussions with relevant stakeholders, with the aim of expanding its presence in the global operation and maintenance (O&M) market. By utilizing the railway operation know-how accumulated over many years, Tokyo Metro continues to explore opportunities to further develop its overseas O&M business.
Initiatives in Urban Railway Operations in the United Kingdom
In November 2024, Tokyo Metro, together with Sumitomo Corporation and The Go-Ahead Group Limited, was awarded the operating contract for the Elizabeth line in London. This project represents Tokyo Metro's first overseas railway operation, and in May 2025, the company commenced service as the operator of the line on behalf of Transport for London (TfL).
