Service Information
This section provides information about actual or expected delays of 5 minutes or more for train services.
This service (hereinafter referred to as the "Tap to Ride Service") allows you to pass
through automatic fare gates and ride on Tokyo Metro lines simply by touching your card
(credit, debit, or prepaid) or a smartphone, with such a card registered on it,
to the reader at the automatic fare gate.
Additionally, you can transfer between the lines of 11 railway operators
in the Kanto region, including Tokyo Metro lines (*1).
(*1) Odakyu Electric Railway Co., Ltd., Odakyu Hakone Co., Ltd.,
Keio Corporation, Keikyu Corporation, SAGAMI RAILWAY Co., Ltd., SEIBU RAILWAY,
TOKYU RAILWAYS, Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation (Toei Subway),
TOBU RAILWAY CO., LTD., and YOKOHAMA MINATOMIRAI RAILWAY COMPANY
You can pass through the fare gates without purchasing a ticket in advance and use the lines providing this service.
Please ensure you touch your eligible card to the reader installed on the automatic fare gate until you hear a beep.

On Tokyo Metro lines, when using a single card (credit, debit or prepaid) to pass through automatic ticket gates
for entry and exit, the fare is the same as the standard passenger fare (in 10-yen increments) for a ticket.
Tap to Ride Service is available on all Tokyo Metro lines.

Passengers boarding at Nakano Station cannot use the Tap to Ride Service.
Passengers boarding using the Tap to Ride Service and getting off at Nakano Station will need to have the fare processed at
the manned fare gate counter using the card (credit, debit or prepaid) they used when boarding.

Q1. What cards are accepted?
A1. Cards (credit, debit or prepaid) with the "tap to pay" logo can be used for the Tap to Ride Service. Smartphones or other devices that have a credit card registered on it can also be used. If your card does not have tap to pay service, please contact your card issuer.
Q2. Is registration required in advance?
A2. No, you don't need to register in advance.
Simply tap your card (credit, debit or prepaid) to enter and exit.
Q3. Is it possible for more than one person to use the same touch payment card for boarding?
A3. No, it is not possible. Only the person who is named on the card can use it.
Q4. Is it possible for children to use a credit card for the Tap to Ride Service to ride the train?
A4. Child fares are not covered. If a child wishes to use the service, they can only use it as long as the card is in their name. Regarding the fare, the adult fare is applied.
Q5. I had a valid ticket (commuter pass or special ticket), but I accidentally used the Tap to Ride Service. Is it possible to cancel (get a refund)?
A5. Please note that even if you hold a valid ticket, any confirmed travel records cannot be canceled.
* We regret that it is not possible to delete your boarding and alighting history or get a refund at the time of inquiry.
Q6. I accidentally used a credit card different from the one I intended to use. Would it be possible to cancel the transaction or receive a refund?
A6. Please note that even if you hold a different credit card, any confirmed travel records cannot be canceled.
* We regret that it is not possible to delete your boarding and alighting history or get a refund at the time of inquiry.
Q7. I traveled beyond the area covered onto a railway operator that does not offer Tap to Ride Service (such as JR East). How will the fare be settled?
A7. If you ride past the area covered by the Tap to Ride Service, the transaction will become invalid from the station you boarded. In such cases, the fare from the connecting station (the last station within the area covered) to the station you got off at will be paid at that station. Additionally, you must go back to a station in the area covered to process your entry record (e.g., credit card) and settle the fare from the station you boarded to the connecting station (the last station within the area covered.) Both settements require cash or other non-credit card payment methods, with fares in 10-yen increments.
Q8. Is it possible to use "fare gates only for transfers" (at Nishi-nippori Station, Ichigaya Station, and Nishi-funabashi Station) when transferring to railway operators that do not offer the Tap to Ride Service, such as JR EAST?
A8. This service cannot be used as it is not applicable.
Q9. What to do if a station staff gives you with a "reception number"?
A9. Please access the following address and enter the issued reception number along with the required information.
