Information about who to contact, where to go, and how to retrieve items that have been lost or dropped.

Lost Items That Have Been Found

The storage location of lost items that have been found at stations on Tokyo Metro lines changes depending on the length of time that has passed. Please inquire about lost items and pick them up as soon as possible.

Items are disposed of after three months of storage

  • 1 If an item is handed in at night, it may be sent to the Lost and Found at Iidabashi station two days later rather than the next day.
  • 2 The date on which the item is sent to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Lost and Found Center may vary if any holidays have occurred during the time frame.
    There are also cases in which some lost items are kept at the Iidabashi Lost and Found Office rather than being sent to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Lost and Found Center.

Depending on the day when the item was found, the sending of the item to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Lost and Found Center may take place on one of the following days during the following week.

Notes Regarding Inquiries
  • For everyday items which look like lots of other similar items, it is not possible to for the Customer Relations Center to investigate.

For everyday items which may look like many similar items, please visit and inquire directly at the station or at the Lost and Found Office.

We accept inquiries regarding lost items 24 hours a day.
Please understand that although we will try our best to reply to you as quickly as possible, there may be times when it takes a little while for us to reply, or in the case of night-time queries, when contact is made the following day once the office is open again.

  • We may contact you by telephone to check for more details.
  • If we are unable to make contact with you by phone or email after receiving an inquiry form from you, lost items will be sent to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Lost and Found Center after 5 days as per the normal storage rules. Be sure to enter your correct email address and telephone number so that we can contact you without issue.
  • Please understand that pertinent personal information such as your name, address and telephone number, in addition to the content of your inquiry, may be forwarded to the relevant department within our company or passed on to another railway company for the purpose of identifying your lost items.
  • Check that you are using the recommended setup below when using this inquiry form.

Lost and Found Center at Iidabashi Station

Located at Iidabashi Station on the Tokyo Metro Namboku Line. You can visit the Lost & Found Center before or after passing through the ticket barriers.
We recommend that you first inquire with the Tokyo Metro Customer Relations Center, and then come to the Lost and Found Center if it has been confirmed that your item may be being stored there.

When coming to retrieve the item from the Lost and Found Office, please check the process for retrieving the item, and make sure to bring the necessary documentation and seals.

  • The office is usually crowded from 5:00 PM until closing.
  • Please understand that it may take some time to identify your lost (found) item when you come to retrieve it.

How to Retrieve Items

Items Lost on a Through Train

All Tokyo Metro Lines (except Ginza and Marunouchi Lines) operate through trains, so items may be found at a destination on the connecting route. Please also inquire with the other railway companies listed below in addition to Tokyo Metro.

How to Retrieve Items

Please bring the necessary documentation to the station at which the lost item is being stored as notified by Tokyo Metro (Iidabashi Station Lost & Found Center or the specific station at which the item was found).
You need to show your ID (Japanese driver's license, passport, insurance card, student ID card, etc.) when claiming your belongings. When claiming for someone else, you need a letter of proxy.
